Unit/Team Goal:  The purpose of the Human Resources office is to assist in the recruitment, development and retention of a talented an diverse faculty and staff, to provide quality personnel support and play a leadership role in the development of effective personnel policies that are consistent with legal considerations.  Additionally, Human Resources will foster a productive and nurturing work environment while delivering a superior Human Resources service to our internal and external customers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Expected Outcome:

Eligible employee will be satisfied with the Employee Recognition Program

 

 

 

 

Outcome Assessment:

Employees will take a five question survey to determine satisfaction and participation rate with employee recognition program.

 

 

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Target:

 

80% of respondents will report satisfaction with Employee Recognition Program.

 

 

Secondary Target:

All employees over 25 years of service will participate in the upgraded Employee Recognition process.

 

 

 

 

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):

Primary: The 2005-2006 Retiree group was offered a five question survey.

Secondary: Compared to last years results, the majority this group did not elect to receive awards from the vendor brochure.  Only one retiree elected to receive an award from the brochure.  

 

 

 

 

 

Recommended Actions:

Based on survey results from the past two years, Human Resources will not continue to offer employees with 25 years of service and above the brochure with a selection of awards.  While the one survey received high marks, the majority of retirees for 2005 and 2006 (five of six) elected to receive the $200.00 cash.

Employees will complete New Employee Orientation in a timely manner.

 

 

 

Outcome Assessment:

Track the number and frequency of orientations, and number of employees participating. 

 

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Target:

 

90% of new staff employees will be able to participate in the process within three months of employment.

 

 

Secondary Target:

The number of new employee orientations will increase by 50%.

 

 

 

 

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):

Primary: Of 10 eligible employees, eight participated (80%) that were within three months of employment.

Secondary: Conducted New Employee Orientation in 9/2005.  Conducted second New Employee Orientation in 3/2006.  15 employees participated in August Orientation; nine employees participated in March Orientation.  Number of orientations increased by 100%.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Recommended Actions:

Conduct quarterly New Employee Orientation more timely to improve upon 90% target.  Continue to conduct Orientation at In-service (include only faculty). Conduct Orientation at outlying locations to better serve employees.  Survey in place to gauge effectiveness.
