Unit/Team Goal:  The experience of a student participating in a extended learning course will parallel the experience of a student in a conventional delivery course

 

Expected Outcome: Students will be better prepared for the rigors of online learning and the specific skills required.

 

Outcome Assessment: A student page will be developed and posted on a college web page that offers the student clear guidelines for the minimum technology requirements and an interactive assessment tool will be developed to allow the students to self-evaluate their readiness for online learning. College course surveys will be added to all DL courses.

Performance Targets: 

Primary Target: 65% of students taking the survey will respond positively on question 18: Orientation materials and/or meetings provided for FCTV, College by cassette, GSAMS, or Internet/network courses are helpful.

 

Secondary Target: 65% of those enrolled in Distance Learning courses will respond to the survey.

Outcome Assessment: Faculty will answer question 2 related to analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of material on the Extended Learning Faculty Survey.

 

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Target: 90% of faculty will provide opportunities for students to engage in the analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of material.

 

 

Secondary Target: 65% of said faculty will indicate that the methodology for such engagement is comparable to that used in a traditional course.

 

 

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):

Primary: 100% of faculty provide such opportunities.

 

Secondary: 68% of faculty indicated that the methodology is comparable to that used in a traditional course.

Outcome Assessment: Faculty will answer question 1 related to review of instructional materials on the Extended Learning Faculty Survey.

Primary Target: 90% of faculty will review their instructional materials at least once a year.

 

 

Secondary Target: 60% of faculty will review their instructional materials once a semester.

Outcome Assessment: Faculty will answer question 3 related to the return rate of material to students on the Extended Learning Faculty Survey.

 

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Target: 90% of faculty will indicate that they return material in a timely fashion.

 

 

Secondary Target: 60% of said faculty will indicate that the technological aspects of their course allowed them to return material in a more timely fashion that in a traditional course.

Primary: 91% of faculty indicated that they return material in a timely fashion.

 

Secondary: 64% of said faculty indicated that the technological aspects of their course allowed them to return material in a more timely fashion that in a traditional course.
