Expected Outcome: Students will be able to identify teeth (crowns and roots) based on anatomical and morphological characteristics.

 

 

 

 

 

Outcome Assessment: In DHYG 1120 (Dental Anatomy/ Histology) the students will take a timed practical examination on dental anatomy/ morphology of roots and crowns, numbering systems and anatomical characteristics of teeth.

 

 

 

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Performance Target:   85% of the students will score 76 or higher on the identification of dental anatomy and morphology questions.

 

Secondary Performance Target:  85% of the students will score 76 or higher on the numbering systems questions.

                                                                                

 

 

 

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):

Primary Performance Target: 85.7% of the students scored 76 or higher on the dental anatomy and morphology questions.

 

Secondary Performance Target: 92.8% of the students scored 76% or higher on the numbering systems questions.

Expected Outcome: Students will create viable dental hygiene treatment plans based upon data collected during review of medical/dental history and/or clinical examination.

 

 

 

 

 

Outcome Assessment: In DHYG 1200 (Clinical Dental Hygiene I) the students will satisfactorily assess a patient’s medical history and modify dental hygiene treatment accordingly.

 

 

 

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Performance Target:   80% of the students will identify all medical alerts for patients during clinic.

Secondary Performance Target:   85% of the students will have less than 5 medical history errors during patient care.

Primary Performance Target: 90% of the students identified all medical alerts for patients during clinic.

 

Secondary Performance Target: 90% of the students had less than 5 medical history errors during patient care.

Expected Outcome: Students will be able to assess the medical history of a patient presented in a case based examination.

 

 

 

Outcome Assessment: In DHYG 2410 (Dental Hygiene III) the student will take a case based examination with patient medical history data presented.

 

 

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Performance Target:   80% of the students will score 80 or higher on the final exam.

 

Secondary Performance Target:   85% of the students will answer the questions pertaining to eating disorders at a 90%

accuracy.

 

 

 

 

 

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):

Primary Performance Target:  100% of the students scored greater than 80% on the final exam.

 

Secondary Performance Target: 100% of the students answered the questions pertaining to eating disorders at 92.8% accuracy.
