post-tests consisting of 10 short paragraphs and one short passage from a
college-level history textbook. 25
words will be highlighted and students will choose from 4 items the one that
best fits the definition of the word as it is used. |

will write essays of 350-500 words.
English faculty will review them using criteria modeled on those used
by Regents’ Test essay raters. 2. Students in 2000-level
literature courses will complete timed, in-class writings on a topic chosen
by the assessment committee. A random
sample of these writings will be reviewed by English faculty. Evaluators will be given a set of
standardized criteria modeled on those used by Regents’ Test essay
raters. |
