Unit/Team Goal: The Admissions unit focuses on recruiting and enrolling qualified students.  Admissions unit provides college-wide coordination of all admissions activities including the complete processing of initial student records and the implementation of USG procedures.

Expected Outcome:  Students will provide accurate immunization records.

Outcome Assessment: Generate a report through EAS analyzing student immunization status.

Performance Targets:

Primary Target: Less than 30% of new students enrolled during Spring 2006 will have requested a religious exemption.

Secondary Target:  Less than 50 new students enrolled for Spring 2006 will claim a religious exemption for Hepatitis B vaccination.

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):

Primary: 146 students out of 357 new students claimed a religious exemption on their certificate of immunization for Spring 2006, leading to a 40% success rate.

Secondary: 131 of these students claimed an exemption for the Hepatitis B vaccination.

Recommended Actions:  The majority of these religious exemptions can be traced back to student orientations were students are encouraged to sign a religious exemption in order to register for classes.  The admissions office has begun a new procedure that will allow students to register for classes but will place a hold on the student’s account that will prevent schedule changes, future registration and transcript request until the immunization records are provided by the student.
