Georgia Highlands College will provide learning support programs.

 

 

 

Unit/Team Goal: 

The Academic Support Division is responsible for the placement into and tracking of GHC students requiring Learning Support classes.

 

 

 

Expected Outcome:  All students will be tracked through Learning Support classes and a list of number of attempts—above 1— will be given to the division chair within fifteen (15) business days and to instructors within ten (10) class days from the beginning of the semester.

 

 

 

 

 

Outcome Assessment:  Distribution records will be checked.

 

 

 

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Target:  100% of the division chairs will be given a list of the number of attempts in Learning Support classes —above 1.

 

 

Secondary Target:  100% of instructors will be furnished with a report indicating their student’s number of attempts in Learning Support classes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):  

Primary: A report was given to 100% of division chairs on time, but with errors. Secondary: 0% of instructors received reports on time, due to the errors on the master report.

 

 

 

 

 

Recommended Actions:   The cause of the error in the reporting program has been identified by the Information Technology department and remedied. This outcome will be assessed again during AY2006-2007.

Expected Outcome:  Compass placement test results will be loaded on the transcripts accurately by the time of orientation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Outcome Assessment:  Randomly sample 15% of student transcripts after testing to verify the Compass test scores have been properly loaded.

 

 

 

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Target:  92% of sampled students will be placed correctly.

 

 

Secondary Target: 

 

 

 

 

 

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):  

84% of sampled students were placed correctly.

 

 

 

 

Recommended Actions: 

The transcripts with errors were manually corrected when found. Computer Services has been asked to investigate and correct the cause(s) of errors.
